Society of the ESH Linz

Foundations laid in 1994

To coincide with the opening of the Management Centre in January 1991, students organised a protest in response to the major shortage of places in halls. No student accommodation had been built in Linz for 15 years, even though the number of students had increased drastically during that time. In response, Superintendent of the Protestant Church A.B. Upper Austria, Mag. Hansjörg Eichmeyer, established the ESH Verein association together with Prof. Dr. Rudolf Kropf and initiated the construction of the Evangelisches Studentenheim Linz hall of residence in June 1991. The hall is named after Dietrich Bonhoeffer and was built as a place where students can reside, study and socialise.

Mag. Klaus Köglberger has served as the chairman of the association since 2007.
